Have you ever had that “this is going to be so good” feeling about something that was coming up soon? Well, that was exactly how I felt about capturing Drew’s senior portraits at Fred Howard Park. I was so excited for his senior session and was thrilled when the day finally arrived.
I knew, ahead of time, that Drew was going to arrive to his senior session in his full ROTC uniform. But, I didn’t really know all that his full uniform would entail. Drew looked amazing as he walked up to me at his senior session. I couldn’t help but be so proud of him, already, and we had not even started his session yet.
Drew holds an officer position in his ROTC program. He is a natural born leader, he’s intelligent and disciplined. His session took us to both the woods and to the beautiful beach. I loved all of the different sides of Drew that we were able to capture.
ROTC
We started his session in the woods, with Drew in his ROTC uniform. He looked exceptionally handsome and exuded confidence and pride. I could tell how proud he was to be a part of the ROTC program in his high school. Drew’s uniform symbolized his dedication and hard work, and highlighted his role as a born leader in his ROTC program. His jacket was adorned with so many medals, and it was quite impressive. Of course, I had to capture several detail shots of those medals. There were just too many medals not to capture them for Drew!
Nature Photos
After the formal ROTC photos, it was time for Drew to change into a more casual look. He changed into his jeans, boots, and his favorite cowboy hat. THIS was the real Drew, and the rustic, woodsy background was perfect for this part of his session. He was laid-back and very casual, and even excited about his photos. It only took a look or two, from him, at the back of my camera to confirm that, yes indeed, he was doing amazing! We enjoyed strolling through the forrest, and telling jokes. Drew couldn’t have been more delightful to work with.
Beach Photos
As the sun got a little closer to setting, it was time for Drew to change into his final outfit. As per usual, Drew looked great in his final outfit. Once we got out on the beach, it was so relaxing because we didn’t have to worry about getting to another location, or him changing clothes again. So, we really started having fun with his photos. Drew was in and out of the water, he walked up and down the beach and even enjoyed being in front of the tall sea grass. My photographer heart was just thrilled.
Then, we finished his session off with a lovely sunset, and of course, a photo with his amazing mama! She should be proud, for sure, because she raised a wonderful young man, who certainly has a very bright future ahead of him!
It was a true delight to take Drew’s portraits at Fred Howard Park. I hope you enjoyed some of my favorite photos of him. Thanks for staying around and reading all about Drew! I’m sure you’ll agree that he’s pretty awesome!
What’s Next For Drew
So, what’s next for Drew? He will be attending Liberty University in the Fall. With his leadership abilities, self discipline, and strong faith, I know he is going to excel in college. I’ll definitely be cheering him on, here at home! Congratulations, Drew!
