There’s something extra special about photographing a senior session in my own family. So, when it came to my niece, Beckham’s, senior session in Ybor City, it was a day I’ll never forget. Beckham has been driven and determined for as long as I can remember. She set her eyes on a college scholarship in her early middle school years and her countless hours of hard work paid off in a big way!!! Beckham is now living her best life at Saginaw Valley State University on a basketball scholarship. I’m so glad that we took the afternoon and celebrated all of Beckham’s achievements because she certainly deserved to be celebrated!
Beckham’s College Scholarship
Our day started with Beckham proudly sporting her Saginaw Valley State University t-shirt! Just seeing her in her t-shirt brought about so much excitement and set the mood for the entire afternoon. Not only were we celebrating her athletic accomplishments, we were celebrating her academic accomplishments as well. Her session in Ybor City was the perfect way to capture all things Beckham, in a setting of old-world charm, urban grit, and lots of chicken roaming the streets. (And in case you don’t live in Tampa… Yes, you read that right).
Beautiful Locations And All The Chickens
We enjoyed wandering through the historic red brick streets of Ybor City, and got a good laugh at the neighborhood’s famous free-roaming chickens. Then, after we finished up her college t-shirt photos, Beckham swapped that t-shirt for an adorable green blouse, and we continued with her session. There were so many options of locations, it was a little challenging to choose. We could have spent an hour on each street, I am sure. This is why Ybor City is one of my favorite places to photograph amazing seniors.
As the day went on, we made our way to a beautiful church, where Beckham changed into an adorable blue and white sundress that perfectly complemented her sporty personality. She looked amazing!
Cap And Gown Photos
Then, as the sun was beginning to set, we added in her cap and gown for the final photos of the day. The sun was gorgeous as it was setting behind Beckham, and the glow was amazing!! It was the perfect way to end her session. Well actually, we finished up the day at dinner, after her session. THAT was the perfect way to end her session… by sharing a meal with family! We all were just so proud of Beckham, and we still are.
College Life
Beckham continues to work extra hard while she is away at college, both academically and daily in the gym, where she continues to train hard and remain disciplined. We’re all so very proud of Beckham and everything that she has accomplished. Beckham, you’re absolutely amazing, and this is only the beginning!!!
