Lidia's Unforgettable Senior Session

Some senior sessions simply stick with you forever, and Lidia’s session was an unforgettable senior session, for sure. Lidia was my final senior girl for the Class of 2024, so I truly saved the best for last!!

Lidia chose to have her senior session done at her home. This is where she has always felt most comfortable and relaxed, and she can be herself. This, of course, translated into the most joyful and adorable senior photos of her. I was so happy to see her in her element. She was so excited and we got to work right away.

But, first things first! When I arrived, Lidia took me to her laundry room, where she and her mom had already chosen many outfits, and she wanted me to help her decide which one should be first. Of course it was a no brainer… the pink tulle skirt!!!! Lidia was glad to hear that, because it was her favorite too. So she changed quickly, we headed outside and the fun began!

Lidia loved her tulle skirt for sure! And watching how excited she was, swishing and twirling in her skirt, was absolutely the sweetest sight. She was smiling from ear to ear, and her giggles were so much fun to hear! It made me laugh too! This moment was just adorable, and I was so thankful that I could watch her having so much fun!

Our next location was at the lake behind her house. Lidia changed into a pretty sage green dress with her denim jacket, and it was perfect! Then we added in her cap and gown for a few graduation shots before she changed into her final outfit for the day.

Next, we moved to their barn, which is a space full of memories and laughter for their family. Lidia’s mom and her mom’s bestie joined in on the fun here… teasing her with light hearted jokes that brought out Lidia’s beautiful smile. It was precious!

After that, it was almost dark, but we didn’t stop. We ended her session in the driveway, taking advantage of its wonderful reflective white surface, to squeeze out the last bit of light from the day. The photos we created in the driveway are some of my absolute favorites from the day.

When Lidia’s mom told me afterward that the day had been “the best day of [her] life,” I’d be lying if I said I didn’t get a little misty eyed. To know that this session meant so much to Lidia and her family touched me deeply, and honestly it reminded me that this is why I do what I do! I always want my seniors to see their absolute uniqueness and beauty in themselves. I was so glad that Lidia felt so special and loved, because she truly is!!!

Lidia’s big heart is inspiring, and she brightens every room that she enters. I was so grateful to have been a small part of her senior year, by taking her senior photos! I know that God has such amazing plans for Lidia and I am going to love watching every minute of it! Lidia is simply amazing!!!
