Alexis and Isaiah’s wedding day was a traditional church wedding, and it is one I won’t soon forget. Their day was so sweet and intentional, and it meant so much to me to have been able to capture it
To understand what I’m talking about, we would need to back up a few years to 2021, when Alexis was one of my senior spokesmodels. I had the joy of getting to know her and also to photograph her (along with my senior spokesmodel team) through creative shoots for her entire senior year. Her individual senior session was my favorite shoot with her. She brought her adorable red jeep and her sweet puppy, Bentley, to her session. What a fun day we had together.
Alexis is the kind of person who brings fun into every room she walks into. So when I was asked to photograph her wedding? I was thrilled and I already knew that it was going to be the most special day.
Alexis and Isaiah met at their wonderful church. They were introduced by a student in the student ministry (how sweet is that?). They both work at the church now—in separate departments, so things actually get done. Their relationship is full of joy, purpose, and deep faith. That showed up in every part of their wedding day, and it was so special.
The morning started with her best friend, Macy, doing her hair and makeup in a cozy fireside room at their church. It was just the three of us at first and it was so wonderful to catch up with Alexis and Macy. (Fun fact… I had the privilege of photographing Macy’s senior photos too).
Not too long after I arrived, her other two best friends arrived, giggling and chatting as they all finished getting ready together. The chatter in the room was music to my ears. It was so apparent how much these friends loved each other and supported each other. Then is was time to get Alexis into her dress.
Alexis’s mom helped her into her dress, and I don’t think there was a dry eye in the room. The moment hit her mom hard and it was a beautiful moment for both of them. Then, just a few minutes later, her sweet bridesmaids circled around her to pray the most heartfelt prayer over her and Isaiah’s marriage. Cue the tissues. It was such a sacred moment for these great friends.
Alexis then shared a sweet first look with her dad, followed by an emotional first look with Isaiah. Isaiah wrote her a letter, and I watched as a few gentle tears rolled down both their cheeks. These two are so tender and full of depth. It was such a gift to witness.
Now, it was finally time for their traditional church ceremony to begin! It was so sweet. Two of the youngest groomsmen tossed ring pops into the crowd as they walked down the aisle, setting the tone for a celebration full of laughter and light hearted stories. It was the perfect blend of both the sacred and the joyful, while remaining grounded in their shared faith. What a wonderful and moving ceremony.
The reception took place right in the gatheria area at their church. It was a beautiful reflection of their desire to worship, work, and celebrate their wedding day all in the same space. It was such a meaningful choice, and it made the whole day feel even more rooted in what matters most to them.
They ended the day with a bubble exit that was SO MUCH FUN!!! The guests went all in! They were laughing, cheering, and trying to create as many bubbles as they possibly could. This was the most fun way to end their wedding day!!! It felt like pure joy!!
Alexis and Isaiah, it was an honor to be a part of this chapter in your story. You both are so kind, filled with faith, and very clearly made for one another. I pray that you will continue on this path that you are already on and continue serving the Lord and your church. You are an amazing couple… and I couldn’t be happier or more proud of both of you!
And… to the readers, if you’re still here reading about this wonderful couple, keep scrolling down to see some of my favorite moments from their day. It was truly the best day!
