Every once in a while, a senior session comes along that reminds me exactly why I love my job so much. Ashley’s colorful, urban senior session was one of those sessions. Prior to her session, we had a zoom call to talk about all of the specifics, outfits, and how our afternoon together would look for her. Let me tell you… Ashley showed up READY!!! Her outfits were so cute and she brought several meaningful items to her session. Her hair and make up was perfect, and we were ready to tell her unique story through her senior photos. Oh my… what a wonderful day it was!

Ashley is the younger sister of one of my past seniors. The fact that they came to me again, meant the world to me. I’m always so grateful for the trust that my clients have in me. It was such an honor to come back and celebrate Ashley this time. And, that’s exactly what we did!!!

Ashley is creative, bold, smart, and confident. She brought her amazing personality to every single part of her session. She chose a great location, adorable outfits, and even brought one of her paintings to show off her artistic side. There was, for sure, no lack of creativity for Ashley’s senior session. My photographer heart was so happy!!

The Yellow Alleyway

We kicked things off in Ybor City… an urban backdrop that was sooo Ashley. From the very beginning, I could see her confidence. As soon as we started her session, Ashley noticed a sliver of light on the side of an alleyway wall and said “this would be such a cool shot.” And she was right. That moment and her confidence set the tone for her entire shoot. We were being creative together and it was just the best afternoon with Ashley!

While we were still in the alleyway, Ashley brought out one of her favorite paintings, and all of the colors were so vibrant and happy! I loved it all! And, as her session continued, I quickly realized that Ashley’s favorite color was pink. Ashley definitely was a girl after my own heart, because pink is my favorite color too!

Street Car Station

Our second location was down by the street car station. This was my favorite spot of the day. It truly allowed for Ashley to just relax and be her beautiful self. But, after only a few minutes, the wind started to pick, up… alot!!! Thankfully, Ashley’s strong character kicked in, and she wasn’t going to let anything deter her from what she wanted for her senior photos.

The Wind And The Bubbles

Ashley wanted to have some fun bubble photos. Yes… the wind made it a bit of a challenge! (Okay, a big challenge.) However, we finally found a tucked-away courtyard and decided to give it our best shot. (no pun intended). And honestly? The laughter from that moment is such a fun memory from her senior session. Ashley, her mom, and I embraced it all and still captured some super cute photos.

Final Photos At Sunset

For her final location, we went down to Bayshore Blvd., in downtown Tampa. The sun gave us the dreamiest glow to work with. Her photos from this location were gorgeous and it was now time to finish up with her cap and gown photos. Guess what color her cap and gown were???? Of course, pink!! What fun!!!

Ashley brought the cutest photo of herself, as a kindergartener, in her first cap and gown. Then, what a sweet moment to have been able to capture Ashley, in her last cap and gown of her K-12 education. Probably not her last cap and gown in her life. But for that moment, it was the only cap and gown that mattered in this special time of her life.

Where is Ashley now? She is getting ready start her college career studying pharmacy. How exciting! What a bright future she has ahead of her. Ashley… thank you for trusting me, and for bringing your full self to your senior session. You were creative, confident, and such a joy to work with.. Your session was everything I love about this work I get to do. I’m sending you all of the love and prayers as you step into the next chapter of your life.
